Develop reading skills-woodmam

It's not about "love of reading", it's about "being able to read"

What kind of statement do we need to add when developing reading skills? Many books say that we need to cultivate children's interest in reading and that we need to make them love books. We need to go one step further and not stop at the statement of developing an interest in reading.

What we want to focus on cultivating is the interest in improving reading skills.

Children are not only interested in reading, but they are especially seeking to improve their reading skills.

Improving interest in reading often compliments a child's love of reading. Is this compliment right? Yes. But let's go further, instead of praising your child for loving to read, praise your child for knowing how to read.

Reading books is a more positive expression of appreciation and praise.

Parents who praise their children should praise their children for being able to read books.

When a child is reading a book and a guest comes to the house, there are two ways to praise him. One, praise my child for loving books, then the child gets an appreciation and praise, he may still love reading books and love reading books more.

However, complimenting my child to be especially good at reading books contains two meanings: the child who is complimented to be good at reading books must also love reading books more. The love of reading is implied, and it is there without boasting. At the same time, the child feels that the parent complimented himself for being able to read books, and complimented both: he was complimented for loving books, but also for being good at reading books, and for being a little more clever and methodical than the average love of reading books.

  This is an important mystery.

I don't even want to be complimented on my love of books, it's so stupid, it's so easy to love reading! What's the point of complimenting a writer on his love of books? Love of reading is very common. It's good, but average is good.

A quotation of multi-purpose guidance method

To cultivate a better state of the child, compliment the law to reflect the wisdom, called a compliment two can, a double shot, a compliment to complete two steps, just compliment him can read books.

There are many ways to say that he can read books, read fast, remember well, tell, sort after reading, imagine, manage books well, remember in an orderly manner, and say which book is good, which book is not good, and can also say the author a long and two short. So boast, the child not only love to read, but also love it a lot. And not only love, but also more and more will read.

For a person who is learning, love of reading is nothing! You boast that a writer loves to read and nothing is stated. Or maybe you say that a person loves to read, others will think that this person is not working, not working, just read idle books.

To be able to read is the highest, most positive, correct and concise compliment and affirmation of reading.

Such a small difference, a word difference, creates two different results in this regard.

To compliment me on my love of reading does not encourage me at all, but I find it meaningless. Saying I can read is a little more interesting. It's the same with children, who love to read, so what else is there to say? When he says he can read he gets excited, he feels different. He feels that there is a taste here, and he can strive for more upward.

So, as far as interest is concerned, it's not about cultivating interest in reading in general, it's about cultivating interest in the practice of improving the child's reading ability.

We don't praise children for loving to read, but for knowing how to read.

Only if you can read, you can love to read

For example, most people who play soccer well love to play soccer, most people who dance well love to dance, most people who speak well love to speak, most people who study well love to study, and most people who can read love to read.

For a child who has grown up, elementary school, junior high school, high school, college, he will only get better at reading and love reading because there is not so much free time to read all the books.

A thing you do not know at all, once you make it worse than the next person, you still love such a thing? No, right?

Being different - you love to do it only when you are better than others.

If you are different than everyone else, is it good to be different?

We must encourage our children to read from an early age, and appreciate and praise them for their ability to read.

This is a point that should be especially emphasized.

7.3 Do not follow the book

Most intellectual, theoretical, logical books, the mystery of reading high efficiency is a phrase that I hope parents will tell their children very simply from an early age, is not to read passively, or actively read. If it is still unclear, and then make a note, called not to follow the book.

  What does that mean?

A novel can be read from beginning to end without using your brain, and a TV series can be watched all the way through without using your brain. But it is extremely inefficient to read any theoretical, intellectual, or scientific work in this way, including a large number of textbooks for study.

A textbook just read over and over again without using your brain, like reading a novel, many things cannot be remembered and many things are not understood. So, reading passively over and over again, following the book, is very inefficient.

A good attitude to reading is to read actively, to reprocess the book in the movement of the mind.

Doing processing on the book is the fundamental mystery of reading

Doing processing with the book is the mystery of reading, and this mystery is applicable to all ages. You just have to explore in this area even if you are at a high level.

Now there is a thick book, whether it is a science book, a history book, a mathematics book, let's make an attempt to take the book's table of contents, preface, chapters, sections, chapters, all the titles are eliminated, punctuation is not needed, and there are no subsections. The book starts from the title, all the words are lined up together, regardless of font size, no paragraph, densely lined up.

The title of the book is called "High School Physics Review Method", which is the first few words, followed by the author's name, all the way down the line. No paragraphs, no chapters, can you read this book?

  It's impossible to read.

But all the contents of the book are at the top, so why can't you read it?

Because any book, people can see more clearly, first of all, the title of the book is very large, the first chapter, the title is also very large. Further down, the first section, and then the section headings. The natural paragraphs are clearly divided one by one. The author has divided his theoretical ideas in the book, there is a structure. If there is no structure, no division, can you read it? Not readable.

With the division of chapters, chapters, sections and paragraphs, with a preface and an afterword, a book can be read well.

Treat the book according to your needs

However, this treatment is not enough; the author has only dealt with all readers in general according to his ideas. Each person must also make a treatment that is applicable to him or her according to his or her own reading.
