The highest praise
It is impossible to take care of every aspect of one's limited energy, and giving up is a necessary intelligence.
The success of Chinese-born scientists and Nobel laureates Yang and Cui Qi was also due to their courage to give up. When Yang went to the US in 1943, he was influenced by the idea that physics is essentially an experimental science, and that without scientific experiments, there can be no scientific theories, and he was determined to write a paper on experimental physics. As a result, Professor Fermi arranged for him to do theoretical research with Dr Taylor, the "father of the American hydrogen bomb", and he became one of Professor Allison's six graduate students. During his nearly 20 months in the lab, Yang became the subject of a popular joke in Allison's lab: "Wherever there is an explosion, there must be a Yang!" Yang had to face up to himself: he was less hands-on than the others!
Under Dr. Taylor's care and after a heated exchange of ideas, Yang gave up his intention to write an experimental paper. He changed his focus to theoretical physics and set out to become one of the great theoretical masters of the physics world. If he had gone all the way, I am afraid that "Yang Zhenning" would still be an unknown symbol.
Cui Qi, the 1998 Nobel Laureate, was a "weirdo" to some: he stayed away from politics, never showed his face, and spent his days immersed in books and laboratories, even going to work in the laboratory as usual on the day the Nobel Prize was awarded. What is even more unbelievable is that Cui Qi was a true "computer illiterate" in the forefront of American high-tech research. He does all the instrument design and diagramming for his research with a single stroke. When he had to send an email, he asked his secretary to do it for him. His theory was that the world was changing too fast and I didn't have time to catch up. Giving up what was dazzling in the eyes of the world bought him a lot of precious time, and thus earned him the supreme honour.
A person's life is too short to take care of everything with limited energy, and there are so many dazzling things in the world that giving up becomes a great intelligence. What is wrong with giving up something that is not necessary for you, as long as you can get what you want?
Once upon a time a child reached into a jar full of hazelnuts and grabbed as many as he could, but when he tried to withdraw his hand, it got stuck in the mouth of the jar. When he tried to withdraw his hand, it got stuck in the mouth of the bottle. At this point a bystander told him, "Take only half, make your fist smaller, then your hand will come out easily." Greed is a problem for most people, and sometimes holding on to only what you want brings stress, pain, anxiety and anxiety. Often people who are unwilling to give up anything end up getting nothing.
What is the meaning of intelligence? For a moment, you may not be able to answer that. However, we know that there are many types of intelligence - words such as "resourcefulness, resourcefulness, resourcefulness and humour" are all expressions of intelligence. But you might not think that "giving up" is also a form of intelligence.
How can "giving up" be intelligent when it is a sign of weakness? However, this is not quite the case. Despite your energy and ambition, time doesn't allow you to do many things at once in a given time, as the saying goes: "There is more than enough." It's like shoving a huge pile of food in front of you and stuffing it so full that not only will your gut not be able to digest it, but your mouth will even burst! So, among the many goals, we must be realistic, give up something and choose something. In this way we can choose the right nutritious food for ourselves, then chew it slowly and savour it until it is completely absorbed, and won't we have plenty of energy again?
However, is there really such a thing as giving up in the world? What is wrong with giving up if, after giving up, troubled thoughts become clearer, vague goals become clearer, and wavering hearts become more determined? There is no such thing as absolute abandonment, only eternal abandonment. There are always many choices to be made in life, and there are also some renunciations to be made. Give up is in order to better adjust themselves and prepare a good mentality to approach the goal. Especially in modern society, competition is becoming increasingly fierce, and the pressure of survival is getting heavier and heavier for everyone. So everyone can't help but become "greedy" and the more they pursue, the deeper their disappointment will be. So keep a clear head and don't be the child who cries over hazelnuts, because after all, we are no longer children!
Giving up is a kind of wisdom, an openness, it is not blind, not narrow-minded. It is a relief to the mind and a nourishment to the heart, it dispels the dark clouds, it clears the heart. With it, life can have a bright and open mind; with it, life can be sunny. So, friends, don't forget that there is an intelligence in life called "giving up"!
The brightness of a lowered head
Sometimes a step back is to step over a thousand mountains, or to break a million waves; sometimes a low head is to become a pillar of the sky, or to become a thunderclap.
In the long road of life, a step back is to step over a thousand mountains, and a low head is to rise up into a pillar.
There is a brain teaser question: the plane is hovering high in the sky, the target is tightly biting the truck loaded with emergency supplies, at this critical moment, a bridge hole appears in front, and the hole is a few centimetres below the height of the car, ask the truck how to cleverly go through the bridge hole.
The answer to this not-so-difficult question is - just deflate the tyres of the truck. From time to time in life, you can savour this "puzzle", which is always new to you. At the beginning, you either don't know what you're doing, and you're in over your head, or you just plough on, and don't care what happens, you die a sad death. This certainly shows one's courage and confidence, but it often backfires and things get even messier when they are not cleaned up.
The sacrifice of the worthless, the ultimate victim is their own, with the "eat a lesson" to increase, but also grow a little "wisdom", in every encounter with similar problems, as in the beginning of the text of the driver, to the tires a little air - low a low head.
Throughout history, there are also mirrors to be drawn from. Liu Bei of the Three Kingdoms bowed his head again and again: from the three Guomao Lodges to the union of Sun and Liu, each time he bowed his head, he paced himself to the "dark flower and bright village" and finally made the "tripod" in glory. King Goujian of Yue bowed his noble head and recovered the old mountains and rivers by lying in wait.
A man working in an advertising agency was easily offended by his manager because of his youthful impulsiveness. So, in the days to come, he naturally became the first subject of every meeting - to be criticised. When he was criticised, he wanted to walk away. But then he thought that if he did leave, some of the charges would not only be cleared but would be thickly tarnished; besides, this was a very prestigious advertising agency from which he could "recharge" his batteries.
So he insisted on staying, sorting out his messy mood and putting his head down to work, healing himself with dedicated work and fighting back against the lies with real results. Business after business has added to his confidence and allowed him to accumulate a wealth of experience. Frankly speaking, the most important thing is the philosophy of "deflating the tyres", which has benefited him throughout his life.
